Shawn Dunham

Shawn Dunham is a management development expert, honing her skills in senior training and project roles for Fortune 500 US companies and as an independent consultant. As a manager Shawn has formed and overseen numerous teams with direct and matrixed members working in virtual environments. She is passionate about helping managers learn to achieve their goals by enabling their team members to do their best work every day.

Shawn previously held senior training roles in the banking, transportation, retail, and manufacturing industries and has logged thousands of hours assessing, training, and coaching managers. As an independent consultant, Shawn has worked with emerging leaders at international pharmaceutical firms, trained senior federal government managers in project management and negotiations, and helped local government managers become more effective in supervisory duties.

Dedicated to the principles of adult learning, Shawn’s facilitation style is focused on drawing out her participants’ current knowledge and experience. She uses expert coaching, guiding, and mentoring skills to help them develop best practices and enhance current skills.

Shawn is a dedicated Francophile, having lived, studied and taught in France for several years, and still enjoys maintaining her language skills. A lifelong learner, she has earned a B.A. in English from Boston University, a M.A in Multicultural Education at Fairfield University and a Master’s in Theological Studies from Union Presbyterian Seminary. Shawn’s an active volunteer in the Episcopal Church, and lives with her husband and two whippets in Greenville, South Carolina.
