Emotional Resilience Training

How well do you adapt to a stressful situation or crisis? Emotional resilience is the ability to adapt to or recover from difficult situations. Resilience is an essential characteristic for high-performance leaders and their teams. As a leader, you need to be able to cope with disruptive changes while still maintaining your focus and energy level under stress. These training sessions will walks you through the steps you can take to improve your resilience and “roll with the punches”.

Developing Bi-Directional Empathy

Empathy is the ability to understand where another person is coming from and bridge the gaps that divide us to create meaningful and mindful connections. For leaders using virtual communication, it can feel like wading through two layers of quicksand. You want to be able to empathize with the people you’re managing, while also trying to read the people you report to. As well, you may feel stressed yourself. This course will help you develop bi-directional empathy skills to be able to effectively connect with your team members and manage downward while also recognizing and relating to what’s going on above you.

During this session, participants will learn how to:

  • Recognize and respond to subtleties in other’s behaviour and your own
  • Discover strategies to engage with others based on their needs
  • Practice having emphatic conversations with team members and people you report to

Fostering a Culture of Inclusion

An inclusive work environment makes leaders and their employees feel that they belong, that they’re respected for what they contribute, and they can be their authentic selves at work. Inclusion is not to be confused with diversity. Workplaces can be incredibly diverse without being inclusive. In some ways it’s easier to foster a culture of inclusion in a virtual environment, as there are less opportunities for people to feel physically excluded. But it’s still a challenge to create a culture of inclusion while working remotely. This course will help you better understand inclusion, identify the barriers, and highlight actions to take to make everyone at work feel included.

During this session, participants will learn how to:

  • Identify specific behaviours and skills needed to create an inclusive environment
  • Foster an inclusive and respectful environment
  • Implement your own inclusion practices within your organization

Combating Zoom Fatigue

Yes, Zoom fatigue is real. You feel it as a leader and your team feels it too. It doesn’t matter what platform you’re using for your video calls, constantly relying on video conferencing to connect with co-workers can become exhausting. During this era of remote work with restrictions on in-person meetings, more and more people report feeling drained and burned out. Scientific studies have shown there are four primary reasons why video chats fatigue us. In this training session, we identify the reasons why and explore strategies to help you avoid video fatigue and still maintain connections with your team.
